Descripción del curso
The subject Teaching Culture in EFL class has been designed as to be taken in the seventh term of
the Pedagogía de los Idiomas Nacionales y Extranjeros major and it is worth 2 credits.
The present course can be useful for those who are involved in the teaching – learning process since
it represents a practical tool in mastering student´s knowledge in aspects related to the field of crosscultural communication, aspects related to the use of literary texts in EFL teaching, and achieve cross cultural communicative competence.
The main course purpose is integrating its participants in a learning process to help them realize the
role of culture teaching to EFL students for effective communication in the globalized world, and the
way literature can serve as a rich source to represent target culture with the focus on teaching the four
language skills. The course is designed in such a way that enables the students to use the knowledge
of language at a professional level and apply it successfully in subsequent teaching experience.
